A slam ball is an extremely versatile product for use in Functional Training and CrossFit training.
A slam ball does exactly what the name suggests. It is designed to be slammed on the ground. A wall ball or a standard medicine ball cannot be used for slams.
You lift the ball up in a squat position, raise it overhead, and throw it down as hard as possible, while driving your body down. You can also throw from the sides to work on core rotational strength.
